[DAY 1: ESCAPE TO KUCHING, SARAWAK]

Date: 7 - 9 March 2015

SENAI AIRPORT -- KUCHING AIRPORT -- WO JIA LODGE -- CARPENTER STREET -- BISHOPGATE STREET -- ALL MUSEUMS -- TRIO'S BOUTIQUE -- KUAH

Such an early morning to catch a flight to Kuching.

Didn't expect to be that early, as left to friend's to decide to buy the tics.

While waiting for my friend to reach the airport.

Journey took about 1-hour plus to reach Kuching Airport.

Thought of taking a bus to Waterfront which is where the guesthouse situated.

NO bus services at the airport to anywhere in Kuching. Even asked the customer service person. She said there isn't any bus to take from the airport, the only public transportation would be CAB.

Well, in that case, we had no choice but to take CAB which cost RM26 to our guesthouse - WO JIA LODGE.

~ Actually is just side by side with Kuching Waterfront Lodge ~

Anyway, if you think it is just sleeping then probably you could choose this guesthouse, but for relaxing I don't think this is a good catch.

Went up, however, check-in time is at 2p.m., so we are very early because we reached Kuching about 10.30a.m.

After food, is time to start walking.

First stop we went to the shopping mall (Plaza Merdeka), just opposite the post office (one of the oldest structure in Sarawak).

Then while we walk out from the mall, we saw the textile museum just at the side of the mall. No worries, all museums in Kuching are free.

But on the way out, if you would want to donate some, you can. There'll be a box at the entrance or exit for you to donate any amount of money at your convenience.

This is a private chinese Museum opened by all the Chinese Associations in Kuching.

After checking out the museums, finally it's time to care out tummy.

Back to Carpenter Street for the famous food.

~ Food court here but it's with the opera stage at the back. Front is the Chinese temple ~

After food, we went to Ooo Haa Tours & Travel to join their tour to the national park.

After negotiating, we then went to Satok Night market which is now shifted to Kubah Ria in Petra Jaya (No more in Satok).

You'll need to get a cab to go there (RM 20, fixed rate).

Find it very weird that all the stalls have their own boss's name and the things they sell.

It's easier for the people to search the stalls.

Nothing really special at this night market. Said as night market, but opens on Saturday evening and closes on Sunday afternoon.

After food, since there isn't anymore things to shop, we went back to Waterfront and went to Trio's boutique for gelato.

From Kubah Ria is kinda difficult to get a cab when you are not lucky where there's no cab waiting there. If you plan to be there few hours probably you will need to get the cab driver's hp who sent you over there just in case.
